OPNsense Firewall

opnsenseOPNsense is an open source firewall distribution based on FreeBSD. Typical deployments are stateful perimeter firewalls, routers, wireless access points, DHCP and DNS servers, VPN endpoints, and UTM-machines. The OPNsense project is a fork of PFSense Firewall. The OPNsense distribution can be downloaded for free and installed on computer hard disks, SSDs, Compact Flash cards as well as on USB flash drives or Live CDs. It runs on a number of embedded systems and generic low power personal computers. OPNsense offers features often only found in expensive commercial firewalls. It can be configured and upgraded through a web-based interface, and requires no knowledge of the underlying FreeBSD system to manage. OPNsense is focused on code quality and easy development, implementing the MVC paradigm. The OPNsense ports, source code and build environment are freely accessible without licensing costs and without special clauses attached.
